Today we’d like to introduce you to Kadda Sheekoff.
Kadda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Kadda Sheekoff, the CEO and founder of Kadda Sheekoff INFO. I grew up in a small town in Haiti called Haut-Coq Chante; at the age of eleven, my family immigrated from Jacmel, Haiti, to the United States. I’ve always been drawn to Law and detective, spending countless hours on my laptop, searching information about Haitian and American artists.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My father used to tell me “What are you getting from this, you going to school tomorrow. Come on go to bed get some rest” but I always tells him I need to know more about Wyclef Jean, Jimmy Jean Louis and a lot of artists. But to get those information to write an article I have to look very deep online. Nothing is smooth in this world, Fail fast, fail often to rise to a higher level of success. And as a Haitian I have zero fear of trying new things. What I’ve learned along the way in my 30+ years: You’ve gotta keep getting outside your comfort zone and try as much as you can to find out what you’re good at.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My journey has been a rollercoaster of challenges that have shaped me into the person I am today. I try to meet people and stick with people who have the same goals, interests as me. Sometimes, I go to TMZ website and see if they have a story that I like, and I just translated in my language and publish it on my TikTok account. I use an app to write articles, and I also used an app to makes video so I can publish online, I even pay some ads online just to make sure everybody see me. The road has not been very smooth. That’s largely due to financial disparities, being very low income. I see creativity as love and passion at its roots and I just want to share that passion with the world.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
At the end of the day, the main factor for succeeding in the current landscape is luck. I know some people believe in God, and most of the time, they will tell you, “If it’s not in God’s plans, you’ll not be able to do it.” Well, that’s a lie. Luck is very very powerful, there are so many skilled and talented people working just as hard as each other, who are just as interesting and deserving, and it’s pretty random who ends up in the most visible situations.
