Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Sanders.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Started as a Football player and business major, no desire for acting or film business until my late 20s, but in my early 20s I helped start a church in Florida and they needed a worship leader, so I volunteered and singer and I so enjoyed seeing people’s lives changed in a positive way through my expression in music, that I wanted to also explore the world of acting and film, as many films have had encouraging, positive impact on my own personal life, I wanted to be able to help others through my art. I quickly got into the production side of film business when I moved to LA about 7 years ago. I thoroughly enjoy both telling meaningful story through acting and producing, much like football, it’s a team sport, every “player” is necessary.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No journey worth taking is ever an easy or “smooth” road, but it has certainly been worth it. Covid, loss of loved ones, finances, strikes, economy dips, massive industry shifts… as I say, “it’s all part of the adventure!”
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I act and produce. Known for and most proud of my first feature film that I was the lead in and also a producer on, Fragile Heart, now with multi-continent/language distribution, I am so honored to have people from all over the world reaching out to me saying how this story has had great impact on their lives.
I get the privilege of sharing my journey to bring hope and strength to others as the move on theirs.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes, getting involved with good people is crucial, and being authentic is the best starting place. I have a personalization manager, and that has set me up really well for success in this industry, being in it for the long game. Great mentors often want to work with, or help those who are WILLING to receive guidance and instruction. Finding a great mentor starts with respect, respect for self, and also for the mentor.
