Today we’d like to introduce you to Jor Avila, Angela Vasquez, and Darren Cochran.
Hi Jor, Angela, and Darren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in 4th grade learning guitar from my sister Cindy, then meeting my best friend Darren Cochran in 7th grade, selling me my first guitar Betsy for $20 so he could buy weed. We started our band Wam Dingis in 8th grade at Hume Lake Summer Camp open mic from there went through a few drummers and bass players and finally collaborated with the perfect chemistry of Angela Vasquez, Darren Cochran, Mindy Song, and Jor in 2015 at my art gallery vintage storefront called The Charity Shop I ran for three years, then moved to LA, worked with art galleries, as an art assistant to Vasa Mihich, art fairs, now working at Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills and The Hole Gallery in Hollywood and my limo business limodaddy.club.
All in all, my main focus has been music and art, though I love to do everything, making video art, photography, films, fashion, business, limos, curating but Wam Dingis my band and my contemporary painting career are top priorities.
I currently do art shows every other month at my place in Chinatown LA called Zara Gallery named after my cat.
And our band Wam Dingis have been playing shows at House of Blues, Viper Room, and Non Plus Ultra, making music videos and recently a stop motion music video for our new Christmas song “Winter Wonder”.
The next step vision is going on a retreat to write a new album focused on Hawaii and Tiki vibes and tour Hawaii this year.
And then touring Japan in 2025.
Have been represented by two labels Mutation Records, Night City Publishing, and now starting our own label Footkini Records.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been some ups and downs, band members leaving taking some breaks, keeping things unified, professional and on brand.
Limos breaking down.
Finding the right routine for art making and deadlines.
Storefront closing due to noise complaint.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I oil paint and draw, specializing in contemporary art and music.
I’m known for my band Wam Dingis, and contemporary paintings and my gallery Zara Gallery.
I’m most proud of my band Wam Dingis, and oil paintings and ink drawings.
What sets me apart from others is the unique high-energy art rock n roll music we make in Wam Dingis.
And my oil painting is impressionistic, realistic, abstract, and minimal with movement.
And I run a great limo business called limodaddy.club.
Love playing with the absurd and marketing and business, doing a lot.
