Today we’d like to introduce you to Jett Miller
Hi Jett , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Jett, I am a 27 year old Registered Nurse and UGC Creator. I started my career as a nurse 3 years ago, and am currently working as an outpatient oncology nurse, which I love! But it took a while to get to this point, I spent the first 2.5 years working in the hospital setting which was very stressful and I was unhappy. I also felt like I needed to constantly try to pick-up shifts to be able to afford living right near the beach here in the South Bay. I was stuck in a vicious, miserable cycle. I tried to tough it out but ultimately couldn’t do it anymore and wanted a way to not rely on nursing as my sole income. At the same time, I started a Tik Tok page for my cat Rex, who was a kitten at the time. It was just for fun, but one video literally blew up (now at 19 Million views) and I was shocked. I started to learn how to leverage that and work with brands. I was what you call a “petfluencer”. It was through this that a brand asked me personally to do a UGC video, which stands for User Generated Content. It basically means creating content for a brand but not having to post it on any of your socials. I had no idea what I was doing, but they were offering $600 for 2 videos so I said sign me up! It was through this that I discovered UGC and turned it into a profitable side hustle, now pretty much full-time job. After learning how much you could make doing UGC, I dedicated all of my free time and my days off from nursing to mastering UGC. It was not easy and I wanted to give up many times, but my husband helped me to keep going. Eventually, I was making enough to where I was able to find a less stressful nursing job that paid less. It didn’t matter because with my UGC business, I could afford it. Now I am at the point where I am doing nursing part-time and UGC/content creation full-time. It’s crazy to say I did all of this within a year. I am also now getting into coaching other girls and nurses to help them leave their stressful jobs or 9-5’s and make more money online with UGC. I am so grateful to be where I am now. I hope this is inspires you to just take the opportunity if it is given to you, You never know where it will take you!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Creating a business while working a full time job is not easy, but so worth it. There were and still are many nights where I work on my business the second I come home from my nursing job. Or using my lunch break to catch up on emails and editing content. UGC and content creation is not always constistent, some months are better than others regarding brand deals. I am still learning how to deal with this and not let it effect me. I’ve also been busier than I EVER have been now, so I am trying to balance it all still.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Besides being a nurse, I have been known for creating UGC content for health and wellness brands. I love these type of brand deals because I can tie in my profession as a nurse into it as well. I do not think there are a lot of nurse UGC creators out there, so I think it helps set me apart. I am most proud for being able to make this side hustle, a profitable business.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being determined and consistent. Don’t give up when things are hard or you’re not seeing results.
