

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Hurtado. They and their team shared their story with us below:
From humble beginnings, Corazon Coffee Bar started as a passion project that came out of a coffee cart in Santa Ana. Owner Jessica Hurtado, with a passion for Coffee and has worked in specialty coffee, brewed up an idea to start a coffee cart in one of the most beloved bars in Santa Ana, Mission Bar. Vanessa Pozzobon, owner of Mission Bar, opened her doors to the coffee cart, operating only in the mornings before the bar opened for business. We quickly saw the love and support from the community, and as a result, we outgrew our space within the year of being inside the bar and decided to open our brick-and-mortar in April of 2024. We strive for quality of flavor, production sustainability, and connection within our community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am still trying to figure it out. Not having an entrepreneurship background can be a little tricky. Managing workflow, hiring talented people, and increasing brand awareness. I learn day by day, but I’ve been lucky enough to have a great support system of family and friends to help me along the way. The brand is evolving every day, and our passion for community and coffee helps us stand out.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a corporate background, but I’ve always loved coffee. I’m inspired by a good cup of coffee and what it produces: From seed to cup to chats with friends to ideas and connection. I’m huge on attention to detail, so I am always trying to serve the best quality I can, from our roaster to the bean to our barista. I’m most proud of bringing an idea to life and bringing my dream to life, I hope to inspire others to do the same.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I just became a mom! I had my son a few months after I opened the brick-and-mortar. It’s been a crazy, rewarding year.
