Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Victor.
Hi Jeff, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Every story needs the right entry point—and mine has a few twists. Let’s begin with the core: I thrive at the intersection of performing and mentorship. By day, I’m a talent manager/developer guiding extraordinary performers to be their best. I am also a dance & stretching instructor at Millennium Dance Complex, the world’s largest premier professional studio. My greatest passion? Elevating performers to their peak potential, equipping them to land dream roles on Broadway, in film, and on TV. I have had clients book big feature films, Broadway shows, series regulars, pilots, and everything in between. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone unlock their artistry and step into the spotlight.
Now, for the plot twist. In 2018, I dipped into two passion projects purely for fun. The first was a video version of my Performer Tips series, based on my popular series of Instagram Stories offering real advice for breaking into acting—a antidote to the oceans of misinformation online. The IG stories series still thrives today, while I immediately stopped the video version. The second? A lighthearted YouTube venture that started with my friend Luke Baker, testing men’s fragrances. We’d both amassed collections and, inspired by Jeremy Fragrance’s viral content, thought, Why not add our own spin? I roped in friends—Emmy winners, actors, models, influencers—to sniff, critique, and chat about scents. To our surprise, the fragrance channel exploded, even leading to collaborations with Jeremy himself.
The irony? The project I’d bet on (video version of Performer Tips) stayed niche, while the “silly” fragrance side hustle became a phenomenon. Life’s funny that way—but it all circles back to storytelling, connection, and the unexpected paths that let creativity bloom.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating content—especially in the fragrance world—is a rollercoaster. Trends shift overnight, viral products explode without warning, and the algorithm remains a fickle beast. I’ve learned to stop predicting outcomes: videos I’m sure will flop go viral; ones I pour my heart into sometimes fade quietly. These days, I balance the chaos by blending what’s popular with what intrigues me. I’ll spotlight mass-appeal scents, then toss in a wildcard—a niche fragrance or an unconventional take—just to keep things fresh. After all, magic often lives in the mix of expectation and surprise.
That same philosophy fuels my work with performers. This industry? It’s a gamble. You can’t control which roles book or which projects take off. So I zero in on what I can shape: honing raw talent into something undeniable. My job isn’t to guarantee a spotlight—it’s to ensure that when opportunity knocks, the performers are ready to own it. . Because in entertainment, everyone’s chasing the same dream. The difference lies in who’s prepared to rise when luck finally meets preparation.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When I launched my YouTube channel, it was purely a creative escape—a way to turn my fascination with fragrances into something playful. But as the audience grew, so did the pressure. Suddenly, this “side hobby” demanded structure. I settled on one video a week for me & a guest: enough to stay consistent without letting it morph into a grind. Because once passion becomes obligation, the magic fades. And magic, after all, is the point.
The channel’s niche—compliment tests with women—struck a chord. Turns out, 98% of my viewers (mostly men) crave that unfiltered feedback. What do women really think of Bleu de Chanel vs. Sauvage? Does that bold niche scent intrigue or repel? Over time, I’ve tested nearly 600 fragrances, gathered over 2,000 reactions, and built a community rooted in curiosity and confidence. It’s not just about cologne; it’s about decoding the invisible language of scent.
Parallel to this, my work as a talent manager thrives on a similar ethos: transformation. I don’t just coach performers—I refine raw potential into something great. Working through auditions, sharpen technique, and rebuild presence. The real thrill? It’s not the credits or awards (though those are gratifying). It’s the moment I call a client, “You got the part,” Knowing I helped someone outshine the noise of this industry—that’s the addiction.
Both worlds, fragrances and talent, orbit the same truth: success isn’t about controlling outcomes. It’s about preparing relentlessly, then trusting the craft to speak for itself.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Life doesn’t come with a roadmap—it’s a zigzagging path of surprises. Industries shift, trends dissolve, and the only constant is chaos. The trick isn’t predicting the next curveball; it’s learning to swing with intent. Stay light on your feet, pivot when the ground moves, and trust that adaptability
