Today we’d like to introduce you to Javon Alvin. Him and his team share his story below:
As a Houston bred-New Orleans Louisiana native, Javon Alvin’s artistic creativity was nurtured by way of complete southern charm, charisma and incredible culture. Early in life years of sports, stage performance and public speaking heavily influenced Alvin’s passions and provided the framework for what would one day become a very prosperous future. College years at Texas State University introduced a new love for all things production and business all the while still grooming his creative. By the time Alvin would graduate he would be successfully owning and operating a film & photography company as well as working diligently to grow as an artist in music & film.
Fast forward to life now in Los Angeles, California, Javon Alvin is now the complete definition of the entrepreneur artist. Maintaining a career as a singer-songwriter & actor balanced with life as the founder and executive director of Alvin Agency – a production agency based in West Hollywood, California.
Everyone in LA talks about how they do everything, well, Javon Alvin actually does.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most of us, Alvin comes from very humble beginnings which often proves to be one of the best ingredients to creating something truly special. When asked about experiencing any hardships in life to get where he is now, Javon responded with:
“‘Hard’ to me is subjective. Hard is only hard when you are comparing your situation to someone else’s easy. When you focus on the cards you were dealt and play them how you can, there is no hard. It just is what it is. It’s up to you to play the game.”
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I take pride in defining myself as a true Entrepreneur Artist. As an artist in any regard, it takes an entrepreneurial spirit coupled with your creative to ever make strides in your career. So for me to be able to provide for myself, my family, and my team and live a life actualizing what once were dreams of being an artist and actor is probably the most fulfilling thing I can ask for at this stage of life.
I still have plenty of levels to reach as a musician, as an actor, as a director, as a business owner and just as a man in general but I feel like I’m dismantling that idea of being a starving artist. In everything in life we go further, do more and feed more people when we’re full ourselves. So as an entrepreneur artist I just want to build, in everything; for myself and everyone around me.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
This list could go on forever, I wouldn’t be 20% of the man I am today if it wasn’t for my phenomenal mom. I don’t believe in being self-made I’m a product of both the amazing people/experiences that I’ve had along the way and the lessons I’ve taken from the wack ones. This article would get real lengthy if I started naming everyone. Credit goes to God, Jesus Christ, my mother and every amazing soul that’s been a part of my life from the start to where we are now.
