Today we’d like to introduce you to Izzy Gonzalez
Hi Izzy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off by getting hired by a well known photography company called Lifetouch Photography back in 2021. Did a lot of pictures for school yearbooks and eventually got to photograph seniors and sports teams. Shortly after that I invested in my own equipment and love taking portraits of people for my own business. I still work a 9-5 job and also juggle my business at the same time. It can be very stressful at times but, also very beautiful to see the business grow. I specialize with in studio photography I love to work with off camera flash. I have done quite a few sessions outdoors, so I am capable of photographing just about anywhere as well. The way I can utilize the flash in studio is just my favorite. I have started off doing free to very discounted sessions to where I now have a set price for my popular sessions and we are continuing to provide the best customer service as well.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My photography business has not always been a smooth road. It is actually a very bumpy road if you ask me. Some struggles I have dealt with are from sharing studio space to not having a studio space than actually creating that studio space inside my own home. All my studio sessions are taken place at my home studio. I have decorated it to feel like you are in a photography studio and not someone’s home. Money can always be an issue as well because photography equipment can be pricey. I have learned that its not always about having everything but, making the best out of what you have or can afford.

What a lot people know me for as a photographer is taking portraits of all kinds. I have an online portfolio and even a physical portfolio book for people to browse through when they come to a session. I love to use off camera flash with color gels and other props as well. My customer service is what sets me apart I would say. I have an assistant that helps with almost every session that gets booked. I come from a customer service background and make sure I give my clients the best experience they can get and also be very personable with my clients.
Any big plans?
I am planning and working very hard to get an external photography studio aside from my home studio. I want to be able to have enough clients to where I can hire an extra photographer to help with my sessions and continue to grow the business. I love to help out other photographers as some have helped me along my journey. And also I wouldn’t mind hosting some in person camera learning for the youth of my community one day.
