Life & Work with Gina Isaac of DTLA/Los Feliz/Silverlake/Echo Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Isaac

Hi Gina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m deeply committed to my career, constantly striving for growth and success while exploring the world and embracing new experiences. Fitness is a key part of my lifestyle, keeping me strong, energized, and focused. Above all, I aim to be a good person, leading with kindness and integrity while finding ways, big or small, to make the world a better place.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The Great Recession and COVID were challenging, both emotionally and financially. Life has its ups and downs, and tough times test our character. I’m proud to have made it through, achieved a few dreams, and, most importantly, helped others along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m not your average agent—I bring a strong passion for real estate and a wealth of experience to the table.

Since 2004, I’ve been helping buyers and sellers navigate the ever-changing Los Angeles market. My roots run deep in this city—my family has called the Eastside—Los Feliz, Silver Lake, and Echo Park—home for over 70 years, spanning multiple generations. I attended elementary school in Los Feliz, followed by 32nd Street/USC Performing Arts Magnet for middle school and Fairfax High School. I then earned my Bachelor of Arts in the Music Industry from California State University, Los Angeles.

Beyond real estate, I have a strong commitment to community leadership and an active lifestyle. I was elected to serve as a Board Member of the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council for three years, working to support and advocate for local residents. I currently serve as the Chair of the Board of Governors for the Los Angeles Athletic Club, where I have been a proud member for over a decade. As an avid athlete, I enjoy playing tennis, squash, pickleball, and more. I’m also a passionate world traveler, always seeking new experiences and perspectives that enrich both my personal and professional life.

After the Great Recession of 2008, it was my dream to own a bar. In 2017, I made that dream a reality by investing in Bar Franca in Downtown Los Angeles. Bar Franca is a classy little Euro-cocktail joint in the heart of Downtown LA, where fine drinks and hospitality welcome visitors seeking an alternative to the expected.

When you work with me as your Realtor®, you get a dedicated partner who truly understands the heartbeat of this city. Growing up and living in LA has given me invaluable local knowledge, sharp negotiation skills, and a deep appreciation for the communities I serve.

Over the years, I’ve watched LA evolve, creating new opportunities for homeowners and investors alike. This city isn’t just where I work—it’s home, and I’m excited to help you find your place in it. Let’s make your next move a great one!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
During the Great Recession of 2008, bars and restaurants not only survived but, in some cases, thrived. That’s what led me to invest in Bar Franca—I saw it as recession-proof. No matter the circumstances, people still go out to drink, whether they’re celebrating, dating, or simply unwinding. But COVID changed everything. It proved that while some businesses can withstand economic downturns, very few are truly pandemic-proof.

I also learned that people need people—community is everything. The pandemic reinforced the importance of giving back, and I saw it as an opportunity to support those in need. For two years, I volunteered weekly with *No Us Without You LA*, an organization dedicated to providing food security—free of charge—to underserved communities across Los Angeles. Their work focuses on supporting back-of-house restaurant staff, street vendors, and, most importantly, mothers and children in need.

At the heart of it all, we are humans helping humans.
