Today we’d like to introduce you to Final Fall.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Final Fall is a metal band from reseda california. This became the brain-child of Guitarist/Singer Jeffrey Fallen. Being in and out of projects since early high school Jeffrey Fallen began this band out of true necessity and need to feed and grow his creativity and vision. The lack of commitment or bands falling apart of past projects drove him even more. He had no choice but to front and first time sing in this band. This band starting seeing light and growing legs early 2018. With band members being discovered through friends or a craigslist ad the band was ready to start its journey. Since then, there have been a couple member changes throughout the span of the band. We sit here today in 2024 with official members Jeffrey Fallen, Nicholas Gonzalez and Marvin Marroquin. The vision and mission statement of the band has always been to not limit ourselves and always try and let our inspirations shine through while being authentic to ourselves and relating to the listener with our experiences and stories/chapters in what we sing about. In past projects (especially in the metal world) there has always been a sense of being stuck or limiting ourselves in a generic sound without really evolving much. In a box if you will. With inspirations ranging from pop,spanish,hip hop and everything in between its really important to try and push the boundaries of the metal genre.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Im going to be as transparent as possible and hope your beautiful readers can relate in some way. If you ever felt like you were alone you’re not. We’re all in this thing called life together. Definitely not a smooth road. Is it ever? lol. The struggles along the way definitely vary, but a big chapter in the bands point came around 2021/22. With covid being a thing we had to try and remain as creative as possible relevant and truthfully healthy. Well, creative yes but health wise the band was kinda spiraling and drinking quite a lot (2 members at the time). Internal demons have always been a thing for me (Jeffrey Fallen). During that time what became a 2/3 week lock down of fun became a year or so full of debauchery really. Internal issues got worst than ever and eventually Jeffrey Fallen was on his own again about to face therapy for the first time in his life. Being in a band is always full of struggles though, remember trying to agree and be on the same page with 3-5 people at times gets hard. In this case luckily its only 3 for us. Definitely the darkest point of the band life. With a blessing of disguise of course.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a 3 piece metal band from Reseda California. We are known for our music style and energetic live performances being heavy of course but with a twist of letting other melodic inspirations shine through. Within Final Fall i feel we are most proud of the venues we’ve got to play and growth we have been trying to get ever since we started. Along With the songs we have constructed and written of course following a vision set since day one. I feel what sets us apart from other “typical” heavier sounding bands is that we are not afraid to experiment with or follow a creative vision even if its not your “norm” in metal. Melodies hooks and tempo changes are just as important as heavy would be to us and we try and incorporate that as much as possible.
Any big plans?
We are looking forward to ending the year strong. To continue to grow this brand/band. Our latest single ‘Menacing’ just released on August 27th you should all go listen to it! It’s a song about us as a society being addicted to our phones really and how harmful it can all be eventually. Everything ranging from insecurities to unrealistic settings and appearances. Not all we perceive is a reality and our phones fool us as we try to compete with this world each and every day. We have a huge showcase show coming up September 25th at the whisky A go-go. Be sure to be there and catch all the great bands! With that being said releasing even more music and music videos as well as being even more active and in your face than we ever have been and eventually signing a deal with any of our favorite labels. It’s coming. Continue growing and challenging ourselves as musicians and as a band is at the top of course.
