Life & Work with Courtney Ferris of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Ferris

Courtney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Court! I’m a 27 year old entrepreneur, full time creative, and a deep believer in manifestation, prayer, and inspired action.

My deepest passion has always been photography, but throughout my life I was always told that photography is just a hobby, not a job, and to search for something more lucrative.

So I studied Psychology in college, planning on getting my PhD in Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience – yikes. Not exactly what my dreams were made of, but I love Psychology, so I thought, why not.

Without much passion behind that goal, a much more tempting option knocked at my door. After graduating college I had the opportunity to move to Hawaii, shoot surf photography, manage a cafe, and teach yoga for a living. So of course like any totally sane person would do, I chose that instead of a PhD, and I’m so glad I did.

I realized my passions weren’t so far out of reach, but didn’t quite know how to make it feel more stable. I still had 3 jobs to balance out to make it all work. COVID hit and I moved back home to AZ, where I began to bartend. Sure maybe my dreams were shattered, but I knew I could figure it out since I’ve done it once before.

This is when I met Jacob, a likeminded and talented maverick in the creative world, who had the exact same passions and dreams as me. From here we turned our dreams into goals and started our photography/videography business: DEATH2DIGITAL.

Since then we have been all over the world hired by artists, celebrities, influential people, fortune 500 companies, hotels and restaurants, you name it!
A lot was put into making it all happen, and it took about two years to build, but our work truly speaks for itself! I have learned the ins and outs of viral content, social media, and used quite a bit of my psychology background to help companies grow their business immensely in just a short few months. I guess the college degree was a little worth it 😉

We turned our passion for photography into a full blown Social Media / Creative Marketing Agency. You can’t buy our services anywhere but here with us. We created it all ourselves, hand picked the creatives that work with us, and continue to create more lanes in our business providing more jobs for creatives, and more opportunities for businesses to thrive in the ever evolving social media world. I’ve even started working with brands as a UGC creator, and I actually do that more often than I do photoshoots now!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Obviously nothing good comes easy – but I’ve learned to enjoy the hard work. Miracles happen every day, especially through the struggle. I’ve understood to get excited when a struggle presents itself, because that means a miracle could be on its way. Don’t forget, I did a lot of work on my inner world while working hard on the outside too. Keeping an open mind has helped me immensely with all the trifles and tribulations I’ve faced. Most of them stemming entirely from the doubts of others, creating doubt within myself.

Don’t listen to anyone, if you have a dream and you feel it’s your driving purpose, just follow it. No one else can see your inner purpose, only you can feel it – follow the path you want and struggles will start to feel like a fun challenge. Prove ‘em all wrong 😉

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
