Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryce Christopher Tipple.
Hi Bryce Christopher, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from a city called Findlay, Ohio. As a kid it was always my dream to go play in the MLB . If you asked me then I was fully convinced. When I was about 15 I met a woman by the name of Wendi Davis who ran a talent school called Starbound Entertainment Group and she asked me if I ever thought about being in movies. My natural response was movies?! I’m going to the league. lol my grandmother why don’t you go give the audition a shot and take it from there. That year changed my perspective forever. I went and auditioned in Toledo, Ohio at Starbound and I suddenly knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and a new dream was born. I instantly fell in love with acting and learned as much as I could at the time about the industry. Fast forward 6 months I received a scholarship to go compete in an acting competition in New York called IMTA. 15 years old I headed out to New York with Starbound and crushed the competition. I received many awards including “Most Sought After Talent” out of every category for the competition. I came back to Ohio feeling amazing and trying to plot how I was going to do this full time. As with every journey you will run into obstacles and have to plan for a way to make it. 15 years old was not my time, life was hitting in a lot of different ways as I was growing into a young man, my family didn’t have the means and there were people who needed me to stay so the dream would have to wait but it never left. I had to wait a few years and figure something’s out but the determination was still always there. Fast forward to 2019 I finally mustered up the funds and courage to pursue my big dreams and bet myself even if it meant going myself actors country to beautiful sunny Los Angeles California. The City of Angels. I told myself 1 year exactly in advance no matter how much money, no matter how little contacts or experience I had I was leaving January first. And I did. I packed up my car car and drove all the way across the country by myself and was determined to find a way to make it happen and hit the ground running. I had no apartment, no friends out here and, no job. lol I quickly got to work finding some income and getting myself set up for representation while also learning the city. I made some really great friends/contacts that could point me in the right direction and just stayed very open to new opportunities and pushing myself out of my comfort zone to keep momentum going. Started off with some short films and classes fast forward a little while and next thing you know I’ve built a great team and have done national commercials, films and started traveling the world. I’ve grown so much as a person and artist on this journey and wouldn’t change it for the world as my struggles AND triumphs have shaped me into the man I am today. So grateful in every way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any journey you are going to hit smooth spots where everything feels like it’s going right and bumpy spots where you are going to be tested. Some of the struggles I’ve run into is coming from Ohio where all my family is, I felt like I moved to a different country when I got to LA. The pace, culture and prices are so different coming where I’m from so it took me a little while to adjust with those elements and just learning the city to find my footing in this busy place. Another big one would be leaving my loved ones to pursue my career and dreams. My family is my everything so it was really tough leaving them and starting in the big city by myself. Thankfully I’ve made some really great friends that have turned to family so that’s helped a lot and I try to make it back to see the family as much as I can. I’ve really grown a lot as man and artist through this journey and LA now feels like home to me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an actor/model/story teller. We do all kinds of projects from commercial to film but my favorites are theatrical roles that tell real stories and make people feel something. I love the process of making a project come to life and the collaboration of it all. Taking something that started with an idea or a figment of your imagination, and watching it come to fruition as everybody takes their skill set and problem solving skills to create a beautiful piece of art. It’s truly amazing, eye opening and inspiring. What I’m most proud of is having this dream coming from small town Ohio and believing and betting on myself so much that I’d leave everything that I love and know to jump into a huge city like Los Angeles and find my way by any means to watching it all come to life and being paid to do the thing I love when all odds are initially against you. The challenges and experiences I’ve gained through this journey has changed my life in the best way and I’ve learned so much about myself and grown so much as a man. I respect anyone who has done this same thing because lord knows it can be trying but if you believe it and can see it I really believe you can achieve it.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is any of them with my siblings and friends I grew up with. They mean everything to me and truly have been an amazing support system for me. I’m truly blessed in that aspect and wouldn’t change them for the world 🙂
