Today we’d like to introduce you to directing duo, Brian Yuran & Joey Rogoff.
Hi Brian and Joey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It’s a classic LA tale. Joey and I originally met when I was his personal trainer during COVID. We both had incredible work ethics and he knew film/tv was my ultimate goal. And I knew Joey ultimately had his sights on following in his idol Clint Eastwood’s footsteps to become a filmmaker.
Joey had an idea he had been kicking around in his head for quite a while. He developed a story around a flight attendant who saves a woman on a commercial flight from falling victim to human trafficking.
He brought me the idea, watched my award-winning short BENGAL, which premiered in 2021 at the TCL Chinese Theaters and entrusted me to write the script.
And the rest is history.
We have embarked on a creative journey together.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The filmmaking process never goes as you hope, but we can confidently say we created an incredibly open, warm, collaborative, and tenacious work environment that all cast and crew thrived in.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Joey is best known for his social media content. With over 4.5 million Tik Tok followers and multiple shows on Snapchat, Joey is a rising talent in the media space. But his ultimate goal has always been to be a filmmaker and that is why with the release of GUARDIAN ANGEL, he founded the production company JoRo Productions (based out of LA) where all his future film and tv content will be a part of.
Brian is a filmmaker. A writer, director, and actor. This has been his passion, his life since he was a child. He broke onto the scene with the award-winning film BENGAL starring Larry Hankin (FRIENDS, BREAKING BAD).
As a team, we have a desire to tell true narrative stories that can positively impact and educate the world. We are storytellers and we are excited to continue to share our creativity.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Be social, go out, project positivity and kindness. If you go through life doing all of these things, you will attract good people and most importantly, enjoy the journey.
