Today we’d like to introduce you to Bossman RW.
Hi Bossman, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was introduced to doing music when I was like 6 or 7 years old by my older brother Mur’jonni (RIP), Uncle & Relatives. I used to just write rhymes but didn’t know how to come up with a rhythm. As the years progressed & I practiced my delivery, I then created my own rap style. I was influenced & had inspirations from 2Pac, Jay-z, Boosie, DMX, The Game, Nipsey Hussle, Jadakiss, Lauryn Hill, Jay Rock, Ice Cube, E-40, Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Beanie Sigel, Eminem, OutKast, Webbie, Lil Wayne, Bad Lucc, Cassidy, Snoop Dogg, Klout Squad, Drake, Lloyd Banks & Nas just to name a few. I’ve always believed in the purest art form of hip hop is life Stories & Lyrics. To be one of the Iconic greats alongside my idols is something I’ve always dreamed of becoming just someone my kids, family & peers can be proud of.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not getting positive reactions, features or even booked. Most came from not getting people to hear me out was a nightmare until I used it as fuel. I allow the passion of my beliefs to proceed guiding me in the right direction. I’ve lost my brother & one of my close friends & after I dealt with my God Daughter defeating Leukemia Cancer as I was on this music journey. My Daughters mother went through a lot to deliver my child & I had to cope with adjusting but largely It was rough in the environment I was raised in so it’s been survival mode & that helped me make it through the madness & poverty, I also learned there’s always going to bumps & bruises associated with reaching your goal some call it growing pains or adulting. Music is embedded into my soul & very therapeutic!!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Straight up I’m in my own lane in everything I do so I believe what sets me apart from other artists is my ability to tell my story while reminding people of the essence of hip hop to its truest form of art which is lyricism. My proudest moment was when my daughter was singing my song & was enthused about it that’s when I knew I was on the right path.
My album “A Boss Already” just dropped 05.18.22, on all streaming platforms addition to the fact the home team “Klout Squad Business” got a project on the way!!!, 2022 has been a roller coaster but we’re still striving for greatness & for my fans or the readers out there YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TOO!!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That you can’t give up no matter what; in life, there’s a lot of Vultures & if you’re not moving correctly things can go another way. So I learned how to treat people better than others because you never know.
