Today we’d like to introduce you to Bee.
Hi Bee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Bee from @hellobarbee.
My passion for fashion began many years ago. Starting with Runway Modeling, I progressed to Editorial and Couture Photoshoots, which allowed me to express myself creatively. I’ve had the pleasure of working on a variety of ethnic shoots, as well as bridal, exotic cars, lifestyle, and beauty. In addition to modeling, I work in Real Estate and am earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in graduate school. I wanted to show modeling as something that should be embraced and done in a very classy, respected and high fashion manner as a Middle Eastern Muslim girl. I love modeling because I got to do it alongside my best friend and sister, @rahansrhythm. As she grew to appreciate what I do, this turned into a bonding activity. Because I no longer wanted to be signed with an agency, I gravitated toward freelancing modeling. It allowed me to connect with my audience and community by becoming a public figure and showcasing portions of my life that I decided to show. I’ve had the privilege of forming lifelong friendships with incredible entrepreneurs, celebrities, models, and others in the creative field.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As fortunate and blessed as I am being where I am in my career, modeling is not easy. When you enjoy what you do, though, it becomes effortless, and you seem to forget about the challenges that come with it. It’s one of those things that can have an impact on your body and psyche without your knowledge. The pressure to fit the ideal look, the hectic schedules, the long hours and the criticism are all overwhelmed by the glamour you see in front of you. While there are many memorable moments, high-level modeling necessitates a great deal of behind-the-scenes work.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work in Commercial Real Estate. I love being in this industry as it is extremely dynamic and market-driven. Because of my energetic and effervescent nature, I am able to connect with my clients and deliver exceptional results.
