Today we’d like to introduce you to Baby Storme.
Hi Storme, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been a musician. I taught myself piano at 3 years old and started singing as soon as I could speak. I just didn’t think it was in my reach, and I had no connections. As I got older, I went to college, didn’t like it, and left to pursue music full-time. I got on TikTok at the end of 2019 and started releasing music and building a platform. In 2021, I really started taking music seriously and dropped a song called “Jackson,” which took off on TikTok. I’ve just been consistent since then.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. At least for me. I’m still on that road now. My biggest struggles then, are still the same struggles now. The biggest struggle was not ever having connections or a proper team to move things forward. Both of my parents are immigrants, and I’m first generation. So with deciding to pursue a music career, I don’t have the same story as the majority of people in this business today. Nobody let me in. So I decided to build my world for myself, by myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
That I’m a true artist to the core. To me, music is nothing if it’s not honest. I don’t write unless I have something to say; and I love music with all my heart. That’s all.
