Today we’d like to introduce you to Aurange.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Back in 2012, I had no area of which direction I wanted to go in with my life until one day I met a young girl who was a friend of my family. Her name was Claudia and she had been diagnosed with leukemia and had been in the hospital for years fighting it. Seeing her made me ask myself a question, if she can fight for her life, why am I not doing the same? After a few days, I picked up my phone and started becoming a photographer. I’ve always wanted to be a professional photographer ever since I was in high school, however my art teacher believed I’d be must suitable as a cartoonist than taking photos, so I never tried to do it until after I met my friend. It was tough at first, learning everything but with practice, I turned my passion into my career! Claudia never got to see me get my first magazine cover or my first advertising shoot but I know she’s looking down on me and proud of what I’ve accomplished.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Photography and filmmaking are difficult to master if you don’t put in the effort, patience, time, and energy. I have quit at least three times because I didn’t feel like I was getting better at the time or didn’t see any growth within my art. It takes time to see your evolution, and I applaud my friends and family for always swaying me in the right direction and showing me that my gift is a tool for someone to be inspired by.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
– I am a photographer, film director, screenwriter and cinematographer
– I specialize in editorial fashion photography, and I direct and write thrillers and horror films
– I’m known for a few small things but the biggest thing I’m known for is the orange. A fruit that is in everything that I do but it has a meaning of why it’s there. It’s not about the fruit itself it’s more about the color of the fruit which represents many things like warmth, sexuality, inspiration, joy, balance, fun, health, etc and all of those things represent me as a person or what I’m I’m working to be and whoever is in front of my lens.
– I am most proud of the journey I have been on in my career, the folks that I have met, and the opportunities that have come my way are something I never imagined as a poor kid from Dallas, TX. I always thought good things happen to upper-class people growing up and seeing how far I’ve been doing this makes me excited for the future!
– I feel what sets me apart from everyone is my ability to adapt and not look at what others are doing plus I use an orange for everything I do haha. The game is over-saturated with people who have a camera but when you pick one up and try to make this your career/life, the first step is to ask yourself “How do I make myself different than others” then go from there.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many people have played a role in my career, my family, colleagues, and friends but as of recently my best friend, teammate, and executive producer Mason Monique who’s also a fashion model, and actress has been the gears to my success mentality and personality. I have always been a solo artist but it has been much easier when you have someone as passionate about the arts as you are and help with the business side, casting, and creative development. She’s been a great addition to the team and I’m ecstatic to have her a part of the journey.
