Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Lalwani.
Hi Andy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started coming to Los Angeles when I was in college. I had found myself coming pretty often in the mid-2010s when YouTube was at its peak. I started meeting a ton of digital creators at the time and, overall, found myself connecting with others more than ever. When I had finished my degree, I made the jump here and was able to find my passion in entertainment news.
I’ve been able to be creative and storyteller through my work at What’s Trending and I’ve been happy to find something new in Los Angeles quite often to keep humble and always curious.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think everyone always says that things are always a work in progress, and I firmly believe that. I think we are all still trying to figure things out each and every day. I for one have had my fair share of professional and personal challenges that sometimes make you want to give up, but it’s about staying with it till the end.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an entertainment host covering carpets, interviews, and more.
I stand out for my LGBTQ+ experience being a gay Indian. There’s not a lot of us in media. Breaking into media can be hard on its own, even for someone with my background.
