Life & Work with Amira Coleman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amira Coleman.

Amira, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Public Relations/Advertising and went on to work in radio sales. While doing that, I shadowed friends who were real estate investors. They taught me how to wholesale and I did some of that and also PR/operations for their company. I got my PA real estate license in 2019 and sold in Philadelphia. I then got my license in NJ since it’s like a Philly suburb being just 15 minutes over the bridge.

I’ve always wanted to experience living in a new city and after renovating my first property, I decided to move to LA – somewhat spontaneously. I got connected with a few teams in LA and decided with the SFJ Group. I’ve been here just under a year, and it is not easy. I spend most of my weekend hosting open houses and the rest of my time building relationships, connecting with new people, and learning the market.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
West Coast is very, very different than the East Coast. The people or the culture is way different. The process to get licensed is different, the real estate world is different and of course, the market has changed significantly.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The team specializes in luxury real estate although we work with all price points, I’m still very new and have a lot of work to do to be a known name in the industry, I’m most proud of my success on my team on the east coast, my independence and courage to make a leap to essentially start over, I’m proud of where I’m from and I think all of that is what sets me apart.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Keep me in mind for all things real estate, referrals are the greatest gifts. If you know someone who is looking for an agent, give them my name. I’d really appreciate it!
