Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Vaughn.
Hi Alex, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been singing and playing piano for as long as I can remember. It’s always been a deep love and curiosity for everything involving music, and I knew at a young age that I needed to be around it as much as I could for as long as I possibly could.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has come with MANY potholes & pit stops, rerouting, trusting your sense of direction, and THEN some! To be honest, the biggest struggle has always been with self & being my own friend vs an enemy. It’s always been easier to downplay myself versus giving myself grace, and it would only make it harder to enjoy the journey. It was always an internal battle Of course with new levels come new devils, and it’s not always easy, but ya girl is making GREAT strides! 🙂 (shoutout to prayer, therapy, and doing the WORK)
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an artist. I love R&B and music that moves the body & soul. I play piano too and dibble dabble with the guitar. I’d say I’m known for being honest & quirky not only with my music but my entire being. I’m most proud of that. I’m a bit of a dweeb (lol) but I love that about me more and more, because that’s what makes me who I am. I want to only create a space where people can embrace who they are without judging themselves. My mission is to help people discover the superpowers they’ve always had.
What sets me apart is that I’m the only ME on this entire planet.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I can’t stress it enough. Give yourself GRACE. Be your FRIEND! This is your show! YOU ARE THE CAPTAIN
