Life & Work with Trinity Penn of Bakersfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinity Penn.

Trinity, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My parents started a family business when I was young which was a dance studio located in Bakersfield California called PennPoint Dance. I grew up learning dance and how to run the business and over the years, I’ve gained a love for dancing, teaching and performing.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was no easy road by far. Some of the struggles included not being able to make auditions due to distance and my parents having one vehicle. Also studying for school was challenging at times and at a certain point, my family had to temporarily live at our business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in dance and dance choreography. I’m most proud of going on tour with Childish Gambino and performing at Coachella. I’m also proud of getting the opportunity to work with Missy Elliott on the VH1 HipHop Honors and being able to be in Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson “Say Say Say” Music video. and working with other amazing artist. I think that my determination for perfection sets me apart from others.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up with a family-owned dance studio, I can say that when I was younger I was not confident in my dancing skills. I would always want to quit and give up every single week I went to dance. Luckily, I had parents who kept me in dance no matter how bad I wanted to give up. Without them, I would not be where I’m at today and having the love for dance as I do now.
