Life and Work with Sheneka Majors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheneka Majors.

Sheneka, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Major Multimedia is inspired by Mrs. Majors four children who are natural entertainers and currently professional entertainers in various genres including acting, modeling, and recording artists. After having success with musical recordings, YouTube views, bookings of music showcases, commercials, large scale print jobs, and overall positive progress as their momager, the main question from most was, “How are you booking all of these gigs?” With all the many requests, Mrs. Majors decided to become a talent consultant and provide a full and complete service to parents that offer legit information on how to get started in the world of entertainment.

After much success as a talent consultant, I decided let’s take Major Multimedia to the next level and become Talent Agency. In late 2017 I transitioned from a talent consultant to a Talent Agent.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
So far my journey has been fairly smoothed. It is a struggle being a new talent agent. Not many casting directors know of Major Multimedia and I would say that is my biggest struggle. I am still building my brand and making new connections.

My advice to all women starting new businesses is to believe in yourself and never give up. Never take NO for and answer. Reach out and network. Brand Building is extremely important for any entrepreneur. Market yourself anyway you can.

Please tell us about Major Multimedia Talent Agency.
Major Multimedia is licensed and bonded in the State of California. We represent talent for Print, Commercial, and Film. We never charge any fees for talent representation. We represent talent located in: Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Diego County.

I am most proud of the roles I have secured for my clients with brands such as: Coca Cola, Walmart, Target, Fox, Disney, and most recently, a Beyonce Music Video. Major Multimedia represents talent of all backgrounds and ethnicity’s however, we specialize in African American talent. We are black-owned and operated by a woman and that sets us apart from other talent agencies.

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
Women are positioned for any opportunity that comes their way. It inspires me to see so many like myself in a position of power and leadership. Nowadays, we’re seeing CEO’s and trailblazers in all industries. I think that women have been and will always be headed towards success in whatever position they choose.
