Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle O’Neill.
Michelle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a kid, I was teased a lot (like a lot of others, I’m sure) and I lacked confidence. Throughout my life, clothes had always carried a lot of significance for me – creativity, memories and eventually confidence. In my later years in high school, I really loved making my own clothes – I was proud of my creations and this really helped build the confidence I was lacking. It wasn’t until college that It really clicked for me – I wanted to take this creativity with clothing and style and help other women experience the same confidence. This led to me starting my blog and wanting to create a community where I could help other woman feel confident and promote self-love.
Has it been a smooth road?
A common struggle for most bloggers can be motivation and the tools necessary to create the type of content you want. Amazing content doesn’t come right away, it comes with time and practice. I still feel like I have so much to learn. My biggest piece of advice would be to connect connect connect! By putting myself out there and asking other bloggers for help – I have a found a community of girls that help me take pictures, motivate me and build me up. These girls have become my good friends and my biggest inspiration!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Revel and Row – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I love finding a good deal and DIYs. I think a lot of people feel the need to spend a lot of money to look nice, but I think its all about how creative you get with it. I am really hoping to guide Revel and Row into a direction that really helps woman master their creativity!
Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
I believe we can be our biggest barriers to female leadership, woman to woman. We have come so far with female leadership and I think this is largely due to all the women who have and who continue to band together, build each other up and fight to be heard. If we can continue to support each other, we can accomplish anything!
