Today we’d like to introduce you to Livia Pillmann.
Livia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Hungary. I grow up in the countryside playing soccer and being a tomboy. Never thought of modeling until they scouted me in Budapest when I was 16 years old. Then, I traveled to Paris and got introduced to the fashion world. I had the pleasure to work with the best designers and magazines in the industry. Then, I traveled to Milan, London and New York. I lived in New York for a year and last year I moved to Los Angeles. I love this place!
I am very grateful for my experience and all the people I have met throughout my career. I feel very inspired every day in the world of fashion.
I love art, it’s a beautiful tool for me to express myself through images and film.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been highs and lows when times were extremely difficult I started my meditating practice. It helped me tremendously.
As a fashion model, you get judged by your look every day. One day I found myself completely disconnected from myself, with no self-love and low self-esteem. I asked myself how did I get here? Why did I let others’ judgment shape my opinion about myself?
Finding your inner peace, accepting and loving who you are with all your flaws. Believing in your own power. Have faith that you are the creator of your own reality.
I strongly believe when you commit and determined, you can get through any obstacles that you are facing. Always keep going.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am a fashion model. I shoot high fashion editorials, fashion shows and also tv commercials. I recently shot my first feature film which I enjoyed very much.
I’m very proud to say that I worked with Giambattista Valli, shot the cover of Harpers Bazaar and been in Vogue magazine.
What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Always listen to your heart. Never listen to what anyone says. Follow your gut instincts!! Do what you love and what makes you feel the most joy. That’s where you will be the most successful! 😉
