Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Hall.

Diamond, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got the idea for Creative Gem Designs in 2017. I’ve always been creative so most of my life, I would plan parties for my family, create birthday cards, make centerpieces, design gift bags, and more. I remember my mother used to tell me, “You better start adding your name to the back of those cards like Hallmark,’ unfortunately it wasn’t until her passing that I started to truly consider it.

At the end of 2016, I became a mother and in the beginning of 2017, I lost my mother, I was extremely depressed and I knew I needed some kind of outlet to get me out of it. I started online school for event planning, I started forming my ideas, I came up with a name, and I took the next necessary steps to officially launch my new business. Once I finished my course online, I launched Creative Gem Designs, it was extremely hard in the beginning because the only clients I would receive were friends and family and of course, most would complain about my prices.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. There was a time when I would only get 1-2 clients a month and they would be small orders. When I first started, I had maybe 20 followers on my business page and it probably stayed that way for about four months. I had people constantly complaining about my prices even though I was barely making a profit. These last years have been a long up and down road with a ton of bumps along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a certified event planner and I also make custom backdrops/banners, business cards, greeting cards, invitations, labels, logos, snapchat filters, web design, and more. I am most proud of the fact that I keep adapting to my client’s needs, I am always learning new techniques and adding new products to my brand. I think what sets me apart from others is that I’m really a one stop shop, I don’t want to toot my own horn but I have excellent customer skills, and I am not offering the same thing to everybody. You truly get a different experience with Creative Gem Designs because everything is customized with you in mind. Every invitation whether it’s the same theme or not will look different from a previous client. I also don’t mind difficult clients and I will keep working on your design until you absolutely love it.

What’s next?
In the future, I would like to add certain items that can be rented for parties e.g., chair & table linens, toddler jumpers, big cutouts, and I would also like to travel to other states for event planning. Until then, I will finally be launching my own site soon so the booking process can be a lot smoother.
