Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin Renee.
Hi Devin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been in love with music my entire life, but I didn’t start pursuing music until my late teens. I really developed into an artist during my time at Norco Music. There I was able to really begin performing on my own with just me, my guitar, and my own songs. I also recorded and released my very first album “In Pieces”. Now I currently work as a music instructor at Rockstars of Tomorrow as well as pursuing my own music. I have recently released a couple of singles from a collection that will be later released as a full album. My music is available on all streaming platforms.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge I’ve come across is being able to make an income with music. I love music but it is anything but consistent. And in a state where it is very expensive to live, I work four jobs on top of pursuing music.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
On top of being a musician, I am also the communications director for my church, music instructor, and social media manager for a couple of companies. In music, I am a country singer-songwriter. I like to play with both an intimate acoustic side of music and a more powerful country-rock style. I am so incredibly proud of the original music I am currently in the process of recording and releasing. This shows my storyteller side of songwriting. These songs are so fun and challenge me in being more of a performer on the stage.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as being happy. As long as I can do what I love and I am happy with where I am, then I feel I am successful. I always want to challenge myself and push myself to want more, but I am very happy with my journey. I have had so many blessings and met so many amazing people along the way. I feel like I have been very successful so far in life. I have further that I want to reach, it will take time, but I will get there one day.
