Today we’d like to introduce you to Caley Alyssa Joyner.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been obsessed with love in all its forms: romantic love, friendship, self-love. The answer for me has always been love more.
Love starts with you.
With how you feel in your body and how you feel in your heart. That’s what drew me to yoga from the world of finance & private banking: the practice helped me to be more compassionate with myself and to listen to my body. It taught me how to speak lovingly to myself as if I was speaking to one of my best and closest friends.
And then it expands.
This wasn’t a message I could keep to myself, so I started saying it out loud! First with my friends, then in my yoga classes, and now wherever I can: on stage at conferences, at events and workshops, to whoever will listen. The message is simple: love yourself and you’ll experience more connection with others. Ultimately, I’ve learned that healthier, happier people make for healthier, happier relationships; healthier, happier companies; and, well… healthier, happier everything!
Now, I spread inspiration on much broader platforms via social media. Creating real, inspired, and loving content for myself and for brands that I truly believe in. It’s also lead me to help foster connection and empowerment within my local community in Los Angeles as the co-leader of Women Catalysts, and mentor aspiring teachers/entrepreneurs/influencers on business, yoga, and the blending of these two worlds. Additionally, I consult for other companies and studios, creating specific yoga & meditation programming as well as scouting, training, and on-boarding their staff.
Because love is meant to be shared.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not!
And… it’s worth every bump, every rough patch you encounter.
Best advice I can give?
Take one step, small or large, in the direction you wish to head EVERY DAY.
Even if you don’t know exactly what it is you want to do, you have a general idea… so make moves in that direction. Slowly but surely, you will find your way.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Caley Alyssa – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
First and foremost, I am a yoga & meditation teacher.
I teach at festivals around the world, train professional athletes, and teach locally in Los Angeles.
I create inspired content on social media as an influencer.
I also blend my background in finance with expertise in yoga and social media by mentoring aspiring teachers/entrepreneurs/influencers and helping them to build a brand and career that’s financially fruitful, and emotionally fulfilling.
I consult on different projects including creating unique yoga programs for studios, scouting, training, and on-boarding their staff.
I have digital content on Beachbody, AloMoves, MindBodyGreen, MYYogaWorks, and Udaya Yoga.
I also co-host Women Catalysts, a monthly speaker series highlighting women who are entrepreneurs/community leaders in Los Angeles.
And most importantly, I am a dog mom, a food lover, and a world traveler!
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
EVERYTHING.
We, women, are the ones we have been waiting for.
We need women in every single field possible.
Politically, professionally, relationally… all of it.
There is so much room for us to bleed into, it’s an exciting time we live in.
We need men to embrace the feminine qualities in themselves as well!
