Good morning Molly, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Writing, meditation, coffee, waking my German Shepherd and going to a Pilates class. I look forward to waking up everyday to do all of these things. They are my forms of self care and these rituals set me up for my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Molly Swing, a real estate advisor based on the Westside of Los Angeles, specializing in luxury properties in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and Brentwood. What makes my work unique isn’t just the homes I sell — it’s the stories I help my clients create. Whether they’re rebuilding after a loss, relocating for a new chapter, or investing in their dream lifestyle, I bring deep local knowledge, genuine care, and a creative marketing approach to every transaction.
My brand is built around authenticity, design, and soul. I’m known for blending high-end real estate expertise with a lifestyle-focused lens — showcasing not just properties, but the energy, beauty, and potential of the life that comes with them. I also lead a women’s group called the Palisades Phoenixes, formed after the wildfires, to support women rising into their second chapter — which has deeply informed the way I connect with my clients and community.
Right now, I’m working on expanding my “Molly in a Minute” series on Instagram — short, insightful real estate videos — and I’m also building a community around morning mindset and personal growth. I believe success in real estate isn’t just about market knowledge — it’s about alignment, clarity, and showing up with purpose every single day.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
I learned about work by watching my parents build businesses with integrity, vision, and a strong commitment to community. My dad had a gift — he made everyone in the room feel seen and valued. And my mom was a powerful force behind the service side of it all, ensuring every detail was done with care. That left a lasting impression on me, and it’s something I carry into my real estate practice every day: excellence with heart, and service that truly connects.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I had a retail store specializing in luxury designer resale, and I was deeply impacted by a major 2 year construction project in Pacific Palisades followed closely by the onset of Covid. That one-two punch forced me to shut down the business — and it became a turning point. It was a hard fall, but it gave me clarity: I didn’t want to build around consumption anymore — I wanted to build around value, legacy, and impact. That’s when I pivoted into real estate. Now, I’m in the asset business, helping people make powerful, informed decisions about their future — and I’ve never looked back.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes — the public version of me is very much the real me. I share my life openly on social media, not just the highlights but the behind-the-scenes moments, too. I believe in showing up with honesty and heart, whether I’m talking about real estate, personal growth, or just navigating life. That transparency is part of my brand — and part of who I truly am.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
When I closed my retail store in the Palisades, I got a glimpse of what people would miss if I ever retired. It wasn’t just the curated designer pieces — it was the feeling. The store felt like home, and people felt seen, welcomed, and inspired there. That same spirit lives on in my real estate work. Now, I get to invite people into actual homes — and help them find the one that feels like theirs. So while the setting has changed, the heart of what I do remains the same. Anyone who missed me then gets to have me back, just in a different way.
