Jenna Mutya of Los Aneles on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jenna Mutya. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Jenna, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
A lot of people are secretly struggling with the fear of letting others see them try. It’s not the trying that scares us, it’s the vulnerability of being witnessed while we’re still figuring it out.

I’ve for sure been stuck there – feeling the pressure of needing to look polished before I’d even started. The truth is, staying in that mindset only kept me small for way too long.

What I’ve learned is that people don’t connect with perfection. They connect with progress. They connect with the person who will show up messy, curious, excited, and committed.

The more I allowed myself to try; to experiment, to fail forward, to evolve, the more opportunities opened up for me. It’s crazy how life expands when you stop hiding.

For those who know deep down that they were meant for something big, OWN IT. There’s a reason God put that feeling in your heart. That’s not delusion. that’s direction. Trust it.

Something I always encourage people to practice is giving themselves permission to be a beginner again. To treat learning like a playground instead of a performance. Show up consistently. Take imperfect action. Build the muscle of letting yourself be seen in every stage.

Move with faith, not with fear. Because the moment you stop hiding your potential is the moment it starts unfolding.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jenna Mutya, and I am addicted to building businesses. Currently, the majority of my time is spent building social-first content agencies that help brands grow with purpose.

I’m the founder of RBRND Studios and Co-Owner of ON Studios, where we partner with brands and creators to craft meaningful, high-quality content rooted in strategy, intention, and community.

Our mission is simple: to build brands people want to be part of.

We focus on work that resonates, elevates voices worth hearing, and creates space for people to grow into their potential. Everything we do is centered on meaningful impact, empowering opportunities, and brands built to last.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents. Growing up, they constantly said, “There’s only ONE type of work in business. Honest work.” That line shaped everything about how I show up today.

To them, “honest work” meant more than just being truthful; it meant doing things the right way, even when no one’s watching. It meant showing up for people, taking pride in the quality of what you create, and never cutting corners just to get somewhere faster. Growing up with that example taught me that your reputation is your real resume, and the way you treat people is the foundation of every opportunity you’ll ever get.

They immigrated here young, worked incredibly hard, and still carried themselves with humility, generosity, and integrity. Watching them taught me that success isn’t about being the loudest in the room; it’s about being consistent, reliable, and rooted in values you don’t compromise on.

Everything I build today, from my agencies to my relationships to my career, comes from that philosophy: do great work, treat people well, and let the results speak for themselves.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of letting others see me try. Not the fear of trying — I’ve always had big ideas and a clear sense of what I wanted to build — but the fear of being seen while I was building something I didn’t have a roadmap for.

For a long time, I didn’t know anyone in my world who was doing what I wanted to do. I didn’t have the connections, the mentors, or the “proof” that someone like me could actually pull this off. And when you don’t know anyone who’s done it before, you start questioning yourself more than you should. You feel like you’re building blind, and the idea of people watching you figure it out can be intimidating.

But what I’ve learned is that lack of connection isn’t a weakness, it’s a starting point. It forces you to be resourceful, intentional, and grounded in your own vision. And the more I allowed myself to try out loud, even without the perfect network or blueprint, the more aligned I became with the people and opportunities meant for me.

Being seen trying used to scare me. Now, it’s the thing that’s built my confidence, my community, and everything I have today.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
My mom always told my sister and me, “You are responsible for who you will become.” That principle guides everything in my life. It reminds me that no one is coming to build my future for me; I have to take ownership, make intentional choices, and show up with integrity.

Another truth I live by is that effort compounds. Growth is not loud! Small steps matter, even when no one sees them.

And finally, character is currency. The way you treat people and the quality of your work will always speak for you.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Honestly? Compound growth in every area of my life; financially, creatively, personally. I’m investing in things that don’t give instant gratification: building my agencies the right way, nurturing relationships, sharpening my skills, and creating systems that future-me will thank me for.

It’s the unglamorous consistency, the discipline, the long-term thinking. Everything I’m investing in now is designed to compound; slowly, quietly, then all at once.
