Inspiring Conversations with Yvette Sandoval Schoenholt of Walk and Talk Life Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvette Sandoval Schoenholt.

Hi Yvette, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always enjoyed long walks and hikes with friends and family as I’ve found it more than beneficial mentally, psychologically and of course, physically. It’s a great way to communicate, exercise and connect with nature. Multi-tasking at it’s best! During these walks, so many life goals are discussed, plans laid and ideas hatched!

Throughout my career, I have been chosen to work alongside world-renowned social entrepreneurs, NYT bestselling authors, professional sports team owners, presidents and CEOs of Hollywood film production companies, actors, directors, musicians, artists of all genres, international speakers, educators, students and seniors in an assistant/advisor/mentor role. With each client, there would always come a time when I felt the desire to go beyond the walls of an office and into a natural setting to take a break from whatever problem/issue/project they were working on in order to clear their mind, breathe and rejuvenate.

It was during one such office visit that I suggested a walk. And lo and behold, during that outing we had a magnificent breakthrough! As time went on, I began to incorporate these outings more and more. I found that during these excursions, my clients most often would experience some sort of epiphany or “light bulb” moment where they figured out a way to overcome an obstacle relating to either a professional or personal matter. I, along with my clients, started to realize that simply walking or hiking for a short time not only has tremendous benefits for physical, mental and emotional health, but can also lead to surprising self-discoveries.

Spending this quality time outdoors with clients is enormously fulfilling for both myself and them. It’s a wonderful instrument in helping others solve problems or achieve goals by walking together, listening, asking questions and sharing insights and sometimes different perspectives. I then decided that out of the office and into nature as a life coach was the best approach not only for me but more importantly, for my clients!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I was fortunate that my transition into a life coach practice was a smooth one. Referrals are the best way to grow this type of business and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some pretty amazing individuals who were referred to me from previous clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of Walk and Talk Life Coaching. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Practiced in providing support and encouragement to facilitate clients’ journey to reach their full potential physically, in careers, relationships and day-to-day lives while enjoying the beautiful outdoors hiking or walking.

I work with clients who have a specific goal that they want to attain in an area of their life that they haven’t been successful in achieving on their own. We work together through a series of sessions in which the specific goal is defined and we come up with a plan consisting of action steps which the client is held accountable to from week to week. My program is one that is based on progress and forward movement toward the specific goal.

I offer the first meeting free of charge. This meeting is to introduce ourselves, get a feel for one another and determine if we are a fit. During this meeting, I explain the coaching process so the prospective client knows exactly what to expect from the series of sessions that are agreed upon.

What makes you happy?
Developing quality and respectful relationships with people, animals and my natural surroundings gives me great happiness and a sense of inner peace as well as being imperative to my physical and emotional well-being.
