Today we’d like to introduce you to Yafit Saban-Amar.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am thrilled to say that my passion for Pilates has truly taken off. It all started 12 years ago when a mom from my kid’s school introduced me to the practice. I had been a fitness enthusiast for years, taking daily spinning classes, kickboxing, and HIIT, but nothing had ever given me the same feeling as Pilates. I was hooked and couldn’t stop raving about it to my friends and family. I wanted everyone to experience the magic of movement that Pilates holds. So, I became a Pilates ambassador and began spreading the word.
For years, I had been wanting to take the certification program but life kept getting in the way. With three little kids, one of whom is on the autism spectrum, it was difficult to find the time. But I never gave up on my dream. I finally took the course and began practicing on my family and friends. With just one reformer in my home garage, I started taking on clients and a variety of Pilates-related workshops to expand my knowledge such as pregnancy, scoliosis and PHIIT
To my surprise, my business grew month by month and just four years later, I ended up with a full eight reformers in my home studio. And recently, with my family’s support and encouragement, I just opened a new location in Agoura Hills. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my love for Pilates with others and help them discover the magic of movement for themselves. It’s been a long journey but every step of the way has been worth it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Balancing the demands of running a business, taking care of my family of 5 kids and making time for my own personal interests and hobbies such as training, running, swimming, cycling and rock climbing can be challenging but it’s important for my personal well-being and growth.
At my studio, I believe that when people step inside, they can sense the positive and inviting energy that we aim to create for our clients. My passion for the power of movement drives me to help my clients feel their best, both inside and out. I believe in the importance of strength, mindfulness, inclusivity, and kindness, all while fostering an enjoyable and welcoming atmosphere. I strive to maintain integrity, show respect, and cultivate a supportive community.
What makes you happy?
As a mother of five and a wife to my best friend Barak, my family is my greatest source of happiness and laughter. They are my backbone and I am grateful for everything they bring to my life. In my free time, I find joy in outdoor activities such as training with the Team Israel cycling and running team, going for weekend rides and runs, hiking, and rock climbing. The feeling of accomplishment and gratitude when reaching the top of a mountain is indescribable.
In my career, I am passionate about movement and dedicated to helping my clients feel their best. I am happy to be a part of a supportive and inclusive community where we share a love for movement and wellness. The sense of accomplishment after a challenging class, the relaxation and stress relief that comes from practicing Pilates, and the positive impact it has on overall physical and mental well-being bring me happiness. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and growing as a Pilates instructor and making a positive difference in people’s lives through movement.
