Hi Vida, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always been fascinated by history and people; homes are just one part of a person’s history. I come from the Middle East, where homes have different floor plans, materials, and usage. After migrating to the United States at a young age, I graduated from Whittier College where I studied pre-law and accounting. Then after being in the accounting world for a bit, I went into the mortgage side of Real Estate but once I crossed over to the sale side of Real Estate in 2001, I found my calling. I fell in love with Real Estate and what it represents. Real Estate represents the starting or ending of a person’s era in many respects. Some people buy homes for generational usage, some buy for investment, but most people buy homes for their own personal usage which based on life changes they move every 7-10 years. I have had the pleasure of meeting many people who I now call friends. I tend to stay friends with my past clients and as a way of giving back, I contribute 10% of my net commission to my client’s charity under their name after the close of the transaction. I am also active in the community and support many autism-related charities, due to my niece being autistic
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Unfortunately, life is not smooth sailing, otherwise it would be boring. I love challenges and I love everything life throws at me. Real Estate has its own set of challenges as well, you must be social, and outgoing and know your craft. I am authentic and always speak my mind, which could present as a struggle in the real estate business. Also, you must always Be “On”. Even though I love people, and I am social, I still need my downtime to decompress and re-energize myself. Besides Real Estate I am an avid runner and have run many marathons and ultra-marathons, I enjoy backpacking through the mountains, hiking, and many other sports as a form of self-healing.
