Inspiring Conversations with Trisha DuVivier of WORKHERO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trisha DuVivier.

Trisha DuVivier

Trisha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I founded WORKHERO, Inc. because I was a miserable federal government employee drowning in bureaucracy and office politics. I was in the trenches every day at work, and I really needed help…but help wasn’t available. HR was more of an adversary than an ally, and I wondered if a company could be created by employees for employees to help people out of workplace trenches that also made them miserable. Once I kicked the fear of failure and believed in myself, my abilities, and my entrepreneurial spirit, everything fell into place, and WORKHERO was born.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has absolutely not been a smooth road. It was hard to know where to start in forming a company. My co-founder, Jasmine Mencias, and Chief Branding Officer struggled to find our voice and branding. When you’re a start-up company, you’re doing and learning about everything as you go: You’re the CEO, Social Media Manager, CFO, HR, etc. It’s a steep learning curve. It was also hard to stay encouraged when the inevitable disappointments and rejections come about. The late nights when you’re working hard on your company, not knowing if anyone will ever care about it or give you a shot, can be demoralizing and discouraging.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about WORKHERO, Inc.?
WORKHERO, Inc. is the first company of its kind designed to bridge the gap between HR and employees by pulling everyone out of workplace trenches that make everyone miserable. We focus on Professional Health and “Un” Wellness, Organizational Redesign, and addressing Workplace Violence Threats. We also specialize in supporting Franchises, which is an interesting workplace ecosystem that other consulting companies haven’t tapped into. We’re 100% black and woman-owned owned, and we’re not afraid of a challenge. I am most proud of our brand’s unique voice because all 3 of us bring different skills and temperaments to the WORKHERO table, and its helped us be successful in helping employees and companies around the globe.

What’s next?
My plans for the future are to continue to build and grow WORKHERO with the original C-Suite. I’m really excited about the great things we’re doing with our Franchise program. While I was apprehensive about it at first, I’m looking forward to seeing our social media presence continue to grow…hopefully it can lead us to hiring some great people to come work at WORKHERO.
