Hi Tomas, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi my name is Tomas I started in restaurant industry for few years, working in the line and then move to Chef rol, but I didn’t like that much because I feel stuck making the same dishes over and over, in the end was not good. so I decide to move and starting my own company CHEF IN LOS ANGELES Doing private even and I really love it. But the pandemic started so I had multiple clients and have to pick one of them, so started working for a NBA player and was so incredible. And now I’m going back to doing private dinners convine with filming, now starting my cooking channel on YouTube.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I grow up in Mexico until the age of 15 years and then I move to the USA with not knowing any of the language, was so hard to leave my family specially a the young age, I move to my cousin hi was living here in Los Angeles, the first year living in LA was very hard because I was missing my family, many times before I go to Bed I cry so much because I didn’t have anyone near me like my parents to tell me something like ( everything will ok or something) many nights I cry so hard but I don’t have no choice but keep going.
Most of life I grew up without my family and learn how to become strong and work more to feed my self. I started as dishwasher at Xiomara cafe in downtown Pasadena and the I move to prep, line cook and the I move to others restaurants to learn more. I went to Le cordon blue for 2 months and I quit. Didn’t like the class so stick to restaurants and learn as much I can. I worked in French, Italian, Mexican, middle eastern cuisine and of course California fusion.
