Today we’d like to introduce you to Tok Kobayashi.

Tok Kobayashi

Hi Tok, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Japan and raised in Japan. When I was 23, I opened my first restaurant in Japan. After that opened 12 restaurants, all in Japan. When I was 30, I sold the restaurants because I wanted to challenge myself more in No1 Country, America. 2019 I opened REDWHITE in Boston, then in 2023 finally I came to LA. American has big food problems, so I want to be the solution for that.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Culture wise, language.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Redwhite?
This is a 100% Vegan Ramen restaurant.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I learned restaurant business are very tough. Many of my friends close the restaurant and company.
