Inspiring Conversations with Taya Hawkins of NailssByTaya

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taya Hawkins.

Hi Taya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off the craziest way. I started on a limb almost. I used to work at Forever 21 @ Fox Hills & was also a college student at CSULA studying psychology. Hated my job to the fullest & knew school wasn’t in the books for me. I remember after easter’s pay check in 2018, I decided to use my whole paycheck on nail supplies with $30 in my pocket and still trying to work hard to get more products. I practiced daily, even after classes and worked with little to no sleep and the rest became history. I’m proud of my mistakes and hardships I went through because it made me the person I am today… NAILSSBYTAYA

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
NOT AT ALL. I struggled a lot. After getting to a point where I thought I was good, I decided to stop working in my mom’s house and move around. I feel like my struggles were finding a place to work. I have bounced around so many times it’s very frustrating. I have finally came to a point where I feel stability in where I work now.

As you know, we’re big fans of NailssByTaya. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Self Taught Nail Tech. I specialize in acrylic nails. I think I’m known for my personality, work & creativity. I think what sets me apart from others is how my creative mind flows. I always have such creative thoughts and intricate designs that sometimes I will tell myself isn’t nice but others will LOVE. I’m so proud of how far I have came because now I’m running my own online nail supply and it makes me so happy to know that people appreciate & love the products I push out. ShopNailssByTaya, offers acrylics powders, nail tips, gel polish & MORE.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I’m gonna have to say my entire childhood was the best because I was the only child for 17 years & my mom was the best mom. As much as she worked, she was still the best mom.
