Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Reasons.
Sophia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My sister, Sarah Reasons, started UnFit the Brand in 2021 and I got to watch her as she pursued her dream of starting a clothing brand, which was so awesome. Earlier this year, she sat me down and asked me to step in as the creative director of the brand. I was ecstatic because this meant I could step away from my 9-5 office job and start following my passion of art and design. As the creative director of UnFit, I design each and every piece of clothing, with the collaboration of my sister, of course.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, starting a brand new business from the ground up is a struggle. Just like any new startup, we’ve had some bumps along the road with manufacturing or just finding the proper vendors to work with. A lot of building a new business is about trial and error, and we’re finally finding our groove with what works for our business and what doesn’t.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about UnFit the Brand?
UnFit the Brand is a clothing brand run by my sister, Sarah Reasons, and I. I think what makes us unique is that we are the demographic for our own clothing brand. All of our clothes are very light-hearted and include fun sayings that any young adult would want to wear. So far, I’m most proud of the most recent line we put out because it was the first line my sister and I worked on together. It’s so rewarding to see people wear and love the designs we put so much time and effort into creating!
What are your plans for the future?
Right now we are completely focused on just growing the business in every way. Though we just released our second line ever, we are currently working on our next line where we are expanding into accessories as well, which is so exciting.
