Today we’d like to introduce you to Solimar Williams.
Hi Solimar, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been into fashion since I was a little girl. I grew up in the Dominican Republic where fashion was not a main focus and I was always so fascinated by the styles I would see in all of the foreign magazines and shows.
Fast forward me moving to the US and to California where I was able to fully discover what it is that is important to me in fashion. These things were comfort, muted colors, pricing and quality.
UNBTHRD came about in 2020 when I had some time to slow down and really put some thought into my brand. From there it took me a full year of sampling to find the quality of the product I wanted to bring into the fashion world.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not! Being a first-time business owner comes with its own struggles. Specially when the business is being self-funded.
I’ve had to learn how to do many things for myself. I also have to give up having a 9-5 schedule and know that some days I will be putting in some late nights.
Another hurdle I had to cross was finding the right materials and quality I wanted to put out.
Even though it has been a long road, it is 100% worth it and I would do it all over again!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about UNBTHRD FASHION HOUSE?
UNBTHRD is a unisex clothing brand that focuses in comfort wear. T-shirts, long sleeves, hoodies, etc. We have been fully in business since Nov 2021 and we have our online store as well as our in-person pop-ups.
What I think sets UNBTHRD apart is that it was created with the consumer in mind. The quality of the materials is meant to last and pricing is still competitive with what is in the market from other brands.
Most of our pieces are 100% cotton and they are a high count of thread so everything is thick, breathable and durable. Our logos are all embroidered and they are all about protecting your energy and creating our peace.
What I am most proud of is the feedback we have received from our amazing customers. It is reassuring to know that we are on the right track and that our product is received with the same amount of love we put it out with.
One thing I would like readers to know is that the whole purpose of UNBTHRD is to make fashion safe for everyone and to inspire you to wear what you feel your best in.
