Hi Sarah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Eleven years ago, when I became a mother, I knew I needed a career that would allow me to be present for my daughter. In 2015, I took my first step into real estate by launching an Airbnb with a charming bungalow in Minneapolis, where I am originally from. At that time, short-term rentals were still a novel concept, especially in the Midwest.
Building on that initial success, I expanded my ventures by converting a detached garage at my home in Pacific Palisades, LA, into a guest house. The transformation was quick, and it started renting out immediately. This success led me to purchase additional properties in the Twin Cities. I then found a home in Malibu, where there was an abandoned room attached to the side of the garage, I turned it into another profitable rental, spotting potential in overlooked spaces is one of my strong suits!
As a single mother raising a child in LA, I had to get creative to manage my bills, child expenses and mortgages. My journey in real estate didn’t stop there—I eventually developed an 8-unit co-living building in Minneapolis, designed for tenants staying 30 days or more.
Recently, I launched Seamless Destinations, a concierge-style property management company. Now, I’m not only managing my own properties but also helping clients succeed in the short-term rental market. My story is one of innovation, resilience, and a deep commitment to balancing my family life with my growing real estate empire.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, I’ve certainly encountered my fair share of challenges while building my business. From navigating difficult partnerships to managing the financial strain of unexpected expenses, I’ve had to constantly adapt. The pandemic forced me to restructure my business just to stay afloat, all while raising my daughter in a city as expensive as Los Angeles. On top of that, I’ve faced the same inner struggles many entrepreneurs experience, wrestling with self-doubt and questioning whether I could really make it. But every challenge has strengthened my resolve and pushed me to keep going.

Seamless Destinations is a concierge-style property management company that I created to provide a comprehensive, stress-free experience for property owners and guests. We manage all aspects of short-term rentals, from marketing and booking to guest communication, cleaning, and maintenance.
