Inspiring Conversations with Samantha Wallace of Sam Wallace Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Wallace.

Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I began my journey in the health and fitness community nearly eight years ago competing in the NPC bikini division. Fitness for me was not only a hobby, it changed my life. I knew that if fitness had had this positive transformation in my own life, by sharing my story and fitness journey I could help inspire at least one person along the way to start their own.

I began competing in the NPC bikini division at the age of 19 and went on to have a very successful amateur career. I obtained two overall titles in the bikini division with six first-place finishes. I am still working towards achieving my ultimate personal goal of becoming an IFBB pro.

In the middle of my body-building career, I was hospitalized and underwent an emergency appendectomy, uterine bowl separation, and removal of endometrial tissue with a diagnosis of endometriosis. I knew that if I was struggling through this experience that there were many others on a similar journey or individuals that were living with chronic health issues that I wanted to help.

So, I became a certified personal trainer, corrective rehabilitation specialist, and nutrition certified with ISSA and I am currently expanding my certifications/knowledge with NASM and Precision Nutrition Level 1. I began training at LA fitness to step my foot into the world of personal training seven years ago. It was a great learning experience. I have also coached with Orange Theory Fitness but knew that I wanted to take my experience remote to help more men and women take action in their health and fitness journeys.

I specialize in helping men and women transform their lifestyles through the Sam Wallace Fit Method. A hybrid training model that focuses on meeting you where you are at right now. Fitness should never de-rail your life. It should always integrate into it seamlessly. It’s about honoring ourselves daily through movement and mindfulness.

I have also been humbled to share my journey with a cover and feature in Scottsdale Health Magazine in May of 2019, The Side Of Mayo Show in September 2020, The Beyond The Image podcast in October 2020, Mental Loops Podcast, The Healthprenuer Podcast, Ever Forward Radio/podcast with Chase Chewning, TGI Girls Podcast, and many others.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My fitness journey has been anything but smooth.

That’s what I love about fitness is that its ever-evolving in our lives. I have struggled through my health, competitive bodybuilding, and eventually learning how to find what sustainability in my normal life needed to look like through nutrition and training without a stage or competition.

I have undergone an emergency stomach surgery as mentioned earlier and a full foot and ankle reconstruction surgery in the last 7 years. Both experiences are humble reminders of how important our health is and that we need to be cognizant of never taking it for granted. I am so grateful for those experiences. I don’t think I would be where I am today without them.

Starting a business has had its many speed bumps along the way, but with failure, many, we have the ability to learn and grow through them.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sam Wallace Fitness?
At SWF we understand that fitness is not a one size fits because your body and life are unique to you. This means your training and nutrition regimen should be also. We understand the frustration and fears that accompany starting a fitness journey. But we also understand that looking good and feeling better isn’t the total reason you’re here.

You want to be able to have better sex without feeling the need to hide your body. You want to feel confident taking your shirt off at the pool, and finally wearing that little black dress hiding in the back of your closet. You want to be able to show your kids that their health is important. You want to feel confident in your career both physically and mentally.

You don’t want to feel out of control, guilty, or emotionally controlled by everything you eat. You want to be present in the social moments that mean the most to you without feeling like you’re getting in your own way. We understand because our clients and ourselves were once just like you.

We help our clients create lifestyle sustainability in their health and fitness goals. Without restrictive diets, hours of training, and unobtainable goals. We meet our clients where they’re at and help them grow from there. We focus on sustainable solutions catered to each individual’s life. We understand that your goals are unique and personal which means your approach to success in your health and fitness goals needs to complement that.

Nutrition is the core of our process and our clients work hand in hand with our team’s registered dietitian so that they are receiving the utmost success, health and safety, and tools they need to have long-term success. Our clients work one on one with our certified personal trainers to help bridge the gap and find the most success in their physical/lifestyle goals through training programs and life coaching to create a full 360 success approach.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the ocean. I am a total beach girl and I try to make it to the beach daily. There is something so healing and calming and I find myself having to pinch myself often because I can’t believe how incredibly blessed I am to live here.

I also love how kind people can be. I am originally from Phoenix and people can be pretty dry or avoidant. I love that I can go anywhere and I know I am going to have a small interaction with a local about the weather or a small polite conversation over cheese in a grocery store. Sounds silly, but it is something so small that can really make someone’s day.

I can not get behind the traffic and gas prices. I am so thankful I don’t commute to work so it’s not too big of a worry for me. But I do give huge props to those that are commuting daily. That is another level of patience I wish I had.
