Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Morris
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I spent my early 20s on the road, touring with bands and living out of a suitcase for over 300 days a year. Eventually, I landed in LA to “figure it out” (whatever that means) and ended up walking dogs while I tried to make sense of things. Turns out, I’ve always had this natural bond with dogs—it just clicked. I started learning more about behavior and, before I knew it, people were asking if I could handle daycare and boarding too. So, I figured, why not?
Now, I’ve got this awesome spot in Burbank that I’ve spent the last four years refining into a cozy, homey vibe—totally different from those sterile, factory-like doggy daycares. I love giving my team the freedom to think creatively, especially when it comes to social media, and making sure we’re always putting our amazing Angeleno pups first. It’s been a wild ride, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Running a dog business has been a bit of a wild ride. As a former dude in a band who hangs out with more dogs than people i’ve had some exciting times learning how to do business, managing talent, and handling curveballs like COVID, fires, and windstorms (RIP to part of my property) has been a challenge. Thankfully, I’ve got an good contractor and a drive to keep refining the space and making it better.
There’s plenty of not-so-fun stuff—like paperwork—but I’ve loved the process of balancing dogs and people. I really feel like we’re building something meaningful for the pups and it gives me genuine glee to help the dogs feel at home and the humans feel connected.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about YO! Dog Walker?
My business is all about giving dogs and their humans the best experience possible. We specialize in daycare, boarding, walking, and hiking, and what sets us apart is our focus on creating a homey, comfortable vibe that’s nothing like those big, factory-style doggy daycares. Our Burbank location has been refined over four years to feel warm, personal, and safe—like your dog’s second home.
We’re known for understanding dog behavior and treating each pup like an individual. We also empower our team to think creatively, especially when it comes to social media and finding fun ways to engage with our clients. Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how personal and community-driven our approach is. We’re not just serving dogs; we’re connecting with people who love them as much as we do.
I want readers to know that we’re all about quality care and building trust. Whether it’s a hike in the hills or a cozy spot in our daycare, In the words of Greg the egg “we here for you”.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
