Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee Allen.
Hi Renee, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
In 2012, I became a Zumba instructor after learning how liberating dance fitness was for myself and others. I always had a love for dance; however, I didn’t know it would help relieve whatever stress people were going through while dancing. Throughout the years, people would come up to me and thank me for making them feel good because they were having a bad day or going through depression. They would also thank me for helping them lose weight and having their doctors take them off diabetic or high blood pressure medication. After realizing I was helping the community with their health and mental well-being, I wanted to start my nonprofit organization in 2019 called, Healing Thru Rhythm.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business is never easy, but being a Zumba instructor in the community for 10 years and already having support made the birth of Healing Thru Rhythm a little smooth.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Healing Thru Rhythm is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that combines entertaining fitness and world music with fast and slow rhythms to help exercise the body and mind. We focus on healthy dance activities for women, men, senior citizens, and youth with various genres of music. Our goal is to foster healthy activity, encourage self-confidence, and embrace mental stability to communities, organizations, and businesses through dance fitness.
People become stressed or depressed with everyday life and often need an outlet to smile more, be happy, and just let loose. Healing Thru Rhythm provides the necessary tools to relieve stress through dance fitness and promote healthy living.
We are proud to offer our classes free to the community or anyone who would like to join us twice a week in the Carson, Ca area. Every Wednesday, 6:30 pm at COLLAB Dance Studio and Saturdays, 9:00 am at the Southbay Pavilion Mall outdoor parking lot.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Anyone can join our classes; we would love our supporters to donate to help keep the classes free and hopefully have additional classes.
