Inspiring Conversations with Nikodem Blek of Premier Armor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikodem Blek.

Hi Nikodem, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I graduated with a bachelor’s in Criminology and Criminal Justice. My aspirations were to become an Interpol Agent, I spoke English, Polish, French, and Arabic but ten years later I forgot how to speak Arabic and my French is really rusty. I graduated in 2008 and job opportunities were slim to none so I started working for a family friend in an obscure and mostly unknown automotive oriented industry called Paint Protection Film. I fell in love with my job and worked 80-90 hours a week for three years helping build up a company in St. Louis, MO and then I moved to Corona to start working for a distressed company in Palm Springs. After about six months, I got them back on their feet. They then screwed me over so I finally decided to take the plunge and build my own business from the ground up. One of my biggest motivators is the fear of failure. My oldest son was about to be born and failure wasn’t an option. I went from being told I lacked “management skills” to running a 7 figure business and becoming a 2x world champion in my industry. I essentially set out to prove everyone that doubted me wrong. It wasn’t easy but I didn’t fail, so far.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been bumpy. I often saw other business owners in the past talk about how difficult their lives were and they never really give a lot of details but they always said they’ve been put through the ringer. I can honestly say that until you’ve lived through it you’ll never truly understand it. I hit rock bottom, and it changed me. Luckily I overcame this and it made me stronger as a person and as a business owner. I couldn’t have done it without the support of good friends and my family either. So be mindful of the company you keep. You’ll need them in the hard times.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Premier Armor Inc?
I’m the owner of Premier Armor Inc in Corona, CA. We provide Paint Protection Film, Ceramic Coating, and Tint services. We are known for our premier quality and premier service. We are most known for our Paint Protection Film, it’s a virtually invisible polyurethane film that is applied to the paint of your car, truck, motorcycle or RV to prevent rock chips and scratches. In 2020 I placed 1st in a worldwide competition held by our Distributor Xpel. No shit, I competed against dudes from South Africa, Europe, etc. I am the reigning champion of the world (Borat voice). What sets us apart is where won’t get hung up on being too professional. Our line of work is extremely difficult, most of you reading this can’t even get a screen protector on your phones with out dirt or bubbles, now imagine doing it on the hood of a car. My friend Rocky said something really profound, our work is professional so we don’t have to be. Our quality of work and service revolves around exceeding the expectations of our competitors. We truly feel lucky to have this industry and we know the only way we’ll grow is through word of mouth because how can you advertise something that’s intended to be invisible on your car?

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Aside from being a 2x world champion, not really. I really put my heart and soul into this industry for the past 10 years so there really wasn’t much time left for anything else with the obvious exception of spending time with my 2 beautiful boys, Liam and Nolan. They’re 7 and 5 now and they’re the light of my life!
