Inspiring Conversations with Monica Diprimeo of The Blend Beyond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Diprimeo.

Hi Monica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have spent nearly 30 years working in the medical field as a medical assistant alongside some of the most incredible physicians and surgeons in the Los Angeles and the San Francisco area. Over the years, I had the privilege of working with both plastic surgeons and dermatologist, which gave me invaluable experience and insight into patient care and healing.

For close to 20 years working as a surgical technician in the operating room, primarily assisting dermatologists. After the Covid pandemic, I realized I wanted to create more balance in my life and considered working fewer hours or finding a part-time position as surgical technician. When that didn’t materialize, I decided to take a leap of faith-left my job and started my own business a s a paramedical makeup tattoo artist.

That decision led me to discover the incredible and deeply meaningful field of Scar Camouflage among other services within my industry. It quickly became my passion and purpose. With my medical background, I understood firsthand what physicians can and cannot do for scars, and I recognized the gap that existed in helping patients truly feel whole again.

Today, I’m proud to dedicate my work to helping men and women-especially women-feel more confident in their own skin. Seeing someone look in the mirror and smile again is the greatest reward. I plan to continue in this wonderful field for as long as I’m needed, helping people from all walks of life feel restored and empowered.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges I have faced in this field is creating awareness-letting people know that this type of service even exists for those who truly need it. Many people have never heard of scar camouflage or understand how transformative it can be. Because of that, a large part of my work involves educating the public-explaining what scar camouflage is, how it works, and why it is an important option for people living with visible scars. I take great pride in spreading this knowledge and helping others understand the emotional and physical impact of what I do.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Blend Beyond?

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Just like everything else, when you are new as an entrepreneur you make a lot of mistakes and luck has something to do with it, but it’s all work and believe in you work or service you provide.

Luck is when you find the right partner to collaborate with that understands and appreciates the type of work you do and that can lead to great success, but it takes time and effort to obtain trust.
