Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Glick.

Hi Miles, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Miles Glick, and I serve as Founder and CEO/Owner of Miles Above Inc. Miles Above is a full-service membership-based luxury lifestyle management/consulting and travel agency met across five verticals: Art and Culture, Fashion and Luxury Goods, Gastronomy and Mixology, Sports and Entertainment, and Travel and Tourism. We serve our clients (our members) to save time and allow them on to spend time on what matters most to them in the most seamless, personalized ways possible.

With a name like Miles, I feel that I was destined to land myself a career in the scope of travel and hospitality; Above comes to play because I truly have always had a keen eye for detail and luxury – growing up traveling with my family instead of watching cartoons, I would watch the hotel’s promotional video on TV repetitively questioning why one hotel (or resort) has specific amenities when another one does not, how they greet guests, and how the tables are organized at the restaurant, as such examples. I pride myself and our company to really go ABOVE and beyond in the details in our everyday life. These interests continued my whole life (and still do), thus landing my career in the luxury hospitality industry.

I first started in the industry working for a luxury hotel’s annual holiday event, and then landed a full-time offer at that hotel in the world of Reservations. For anyone looking to begin their career in the realm of (luxury) hospitality, I highly recommend starting in Reservations – you are truly the heart of the space whether it be a hotel or restaurant; you work with every department, learn the values of teamwork and importance of communication from both internal and external stakeholders alike, and the ins and outs of the operation. I transitioned to another property before joining a new luxury hotel group working in management and revenue while performing other administrative tasks.

When COVID-19 hit, as we know, the hospitality industry had significantly been impacted and therefore, and left me out of work for a while. I then landed work with a high-end luxury lifestyle agency which allowed me to sharpen my skills before I decided to venture out on my own. Each opportunity leads me to where I am today, and I am extremely grateful for my experiences at each different avenue.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a Founder, there are high highs and low lows…Sometimes it can be a really tough emotional journey to navigate. Though at this point, I would not trade it for anything else. At the end of the day, I am humbled to say “I did this – I have my own company and get to do what I love, serving other people and allowing others to elevate their lifestyles in ways they may have not thought of before”. People from my past who did not believe I could do what I do, or were not supportive of me only empowered me to work harder and to further develop my skill set and gain new relationships. At the end of the day, you have to love what you do so that even the toughest times, in the end, are worth it, and I can genuinely say that I love what I do – each and every day.
