In 2006, at the vibrant age of 29, I found myself immersed in the buzzing startup culture of Beverly Hills, California. It was here, within the walls of a spectacular startup called Snap Recordings, that my journey with digital marketing began. Snap Recordings specialized in crafting impeccable audio productions tailored for telecom systems. Our creations weren’t mere recordings; they were the melodious voices that welcomed customers and kept them engaged during those mundane moments of waiting.
Assigned with the mission of propelling business growth through Google Ads, I embarked on a quest to master the Google Ads platform. With Google Ads still in its infancy, I sought guidance from a seasoned consultant and diligently earned my Google AdWords Certification. As I delved into the intricacies of the platform, I witnessed firsthand the power it held to attract targeted traffic to our company’s doorstep, all at a fraction of the cost.
Before long, Snap Recordings was ushering in Fortune 1000 clients, and I found myself captivated by the boundless potential of Google Ads. It was as if we had unearthed a magical fountain of prosperity where even the smallest investment could yield bountiful returns.
Amidst this professional whirlwind, my personal life was undergoing significant transformations. Freshly married and pursuing an MBA at Colorado State University, I found myself at a crossroads, balancing newfound responsibilities with academic aspirations. It was during a casual evening at In-N-Out Burger with my wife that fate intervened. Over shared fries and conversation, she posed a poignant question: How would I navigate the financial demands of our life and education?
In that moment, inspiration struck like lightning. I shared with her my vision for harnessing the prowess of Google Ads to chart a new course for our future. Thus, Connection Marketing was born with a simple yet profound mission: to empower businesses to “expand their reach online.” Little did I know this decision would mark the beginning of a transformative journey spanning nearly two decades.

We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with our nation’s most well-known brands in finance, technology, and consumer packaged goods, helping them navigate the ever-evolving landscape of online advertising.

Navigating the evolving landscape of digital marketing wasn’t without its challenges. As platforms evolved and competition intensified, staying ahead became a constant battle. I knew we couldn’t settle for average; we had to aim higher. With conversion rates stagnant at 2 to 5%, I pushed to achieve a 10% conversion rate to remain competitive.
The pressure was immense. Failure meant losing clients to larger agencies. To succeed, I immersed myself in landing page optimization, scrutinizing every detail for improvement. Yet, I couldn’t do it alone. I delved into Google Analytics and adapted to GA4, all while assembling a team of certified Google Ads specialists.
Despite the hurdles, our perseverance paid off. Each conversion and satisfied client reinforced our resilience.
