Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Shaevel
Hi Melanie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My love for interior design started when I was a young girl, always wanting to rearrange my room and change up the decor. As I got older, I developed an appreciation for aesthetics and the intricate details that make a space truly special. By the time I was about 17 or 18, I knew that interior design was the career path I wanted to pursue.
Over the years, I gained invaluable experience working with both large and small design firms, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge of the industry. After nearly a decade in the field, I took the leap and started my own design firm—one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Every day, I have the privilege of transforming spaces and bringing my clients’ visions to life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my years working for design firms of all sizes, I encountered a wide range of personalities—some more challenging than others. Collaborating with individuals who didn’t always share my vision or approach was difficult at times, but it ultimately broadened my perspective. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons in adaptability, communication, and teamwork, shaping me into a more skilled and empathetic designer.
