Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz August.
Hi Liz, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with a burning desire to simplify the chaos. I’ve always been someone who thrives on organization and efficiency, mostly because I was raised that way. As a child I was very organized, using my aunt’s faux nails kit to organize Barbie shoes and I had a sign-out sheet on my closet for friends who borrowed clothes. I became a teacher at 22 years old and was always the teacher with lesson plans and homework available on a class website before that became the norm.
I started to burn out as a teacher, and armed with determination and a deep-rooted desire to make a difference, I launched Simplify, Simplify as a Professional Organization business. I wanted to help people feel as comfortable in their home as I do, and for me that’s always because of organization and routine.
Eventually, that shifted into Virtual Assistance for business owners, and here we are as a full Virtual Support Agency!
It’s been a journey of growth, learning, and many Diet Cokes. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible clients who share my vision of streamlining processes and finding joy in the simplicity of life and business.
Each day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact, and I’m grateful for the chance to do what I love while helping others thrive.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been without its twists and turns, but I’d say it’s been a relatively smooth ride overall. Thanks to my innate organizational skills and entrepreneurial spirit, I’ve managed to navigate the journey with relatively few headaches.
However, the biggest challenge for me has been striking a balance between work and life – a constant juggling act that I’m still mastering. As someone who’s deeply passionate about what I do, it’s all too easy to get swept up in the hustle and forget to take a breather. But I’ve learned the hard way that burnout is no joke, and prioritizing self-care is non-negotiable.
But aside from that, my journey has been more about finding what works than encountering major hiccups.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Simplify, Simplify?
