Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Losey and Felicia Bushman.
Hi Kristin and Felicia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The two of us initially collaborated on a full-scale vacation property in Palm Desert, and in doing so found that our creative processes were highly complementary of one another. The results were so rewarding that in 2021 we decided to partner under a new firm, Onyx & Oak Interior Design. We bonded so seamlessly through our client-centric approach, mixed with a love for custom touches. And it’s through this bond that we create visually stunning, yet functional and comfortable spaces. Over the last 3 years we’ve cultivated a loyal clientele by designing multiple properties for some of our clients and today, Onyx & Oak accepts projects from coast to coast.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As with any creative process, there’s an emotional timeline associated with a design project. This applies especially when a personal space is involved. As designers, part of our role is to prepare our clients for this reality by managing expectations, preparing them for the process, and supporting them along the way.

We offer full-service residential and commercial design services, including ground-up builds, full-scale remodels, and comprehensive furnishing and decor services. For those who have a smaller-scale design predicament, we offer one-off virtual consultations (Our 60-minute Design “Happy Hour”).
Our specialty lies in in creating customized environments that enhance productivity, inspire creativity, and leave a lasting impression on our clients and customers. We work in collaboration with you to ensure your space reflects your brand identity and maximizes its potential.
How do you think about happiness?
Our happiness stems from seeing a finished project come to life and witnessing our clients’ newfound confidence in their own design preferences and abilities. It’s incredibly rewarding to empower our beloved clientele through design, creating spaces that not only reflect their vision but also enhance their daily lives.
