Hi Kelly Klein, Kristen Kelley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Kristen and I crossed paths at a boutique Pilates studio in Los Angeles and quickly realized we had a lot in common. We both went to college in Manhattan, had similar athletic backgrounds, and above all else we missed the grit of New York City. This opened up the opportunity for us to create an experience unlike anything else.
Together we created Tunnel Pilates which broke through the Los Angeles boutique fitness market after opening in 2023 due to its unrivaled reformer and mat Pilates classes. We liked how pilates made us feel and knew that the workout itself was great for our bodies, however, attending class felt more like filling a prescription rather than an opportunity to connect with your own body. Once we identified the gap in the market, we knew exactly how to close it. We now pride ourselves on being one of the first studios in Los Angeles to offer Heated reformer & mat class options. Tunnel continues to push the envelope with our pristine instructor talent and unique method.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Tunnel had a rocky start. Early into its first year Kelly and her original business partner split. This was obviously not how we had foreseen things going, but Tunnel is a company that we knew would succeed so long as we persevered. Kristen had been a part of Tunnel from the very beginning. She quickly rose to the occasion and we were able to turn this situation into an opportunity for growth.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We are currently working on making Tunnel an intercontinental company. Expansion is definitely on our radar with goals to open in every major city. It might sound cocky, but we truly believe everyone deserves to experience Tunnel.
